BRIGADIER GENERAL BRUCE E. HAWLEY Brig. Gen. Bruce E. Hawley is the mobilization assistant to the Staff Judge Advocate, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He assists in providing legal support to the commander and AFMC staff agencies. He also manages approximately 130 Reserve judge advocates and paralegals who are attached to the 18 legal offices that support AFMC. General Hawley entered the Air Force in 1974 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program. He served on active duty for about five years as an assistant staff judge advocate. After leaving active duty, he was an individual mobilization augmentee judge advocate at McGuire AFB, N.J. In 1984, he transferred to the Category A program and became the Staff Judge Advocate of the 439th Airlift Wing at Westover Air Reserve Base, Mass. He has also served as Staff Judge Advocate for the 22nd Air Force. In July 1999, he became the senior individual mobilization augmentee to the Staff Judge Advocate of 8th Air Force at Barksdale AFB, La. Later that same year, he was named mobilization assistant to the Staff Judge Advocate of Air Combat Command. The general has been a frequent lecturer and seminar leader at the Deployed Air Reserve Component Operations and Law Course at the Judge Advocate General's School at Maxwell AFB, Ala. He authored parts of the training scenario for that course. He also wrote an article about procurement law and limited liability companies that was published in the Air Force JAG Reporter. In his civilian occupation, he is senior vice president and manager of a title company.
