BRIGADIER GENERAL DENNIS P. PLOYER

Brig. Gen. Dennis P. Ployer is the Vice Commander of the Joint Enabling Capabilities Command (JECC) which provides mission-tailored, ready-joint capability packages to Combatant Commanders in order to facilitate rapid establishment of Joint Force Headquarters, fulfill Global Response Force execution and bridge joint operational requirements.

General Ployer entered the Air Force in 1980 as an ROTC distinguished graduate. Upon graduation from pilot training, he was assigned to the 314th Airlift Wing, Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark., as an Instructor Pilot. He then transferred to the 914th Airlift Wing in New York, where he was Chief, Standardization and Evaluation, and was the Aircraft Commander of the Best Airdrop Crew at the 1996 Air Mobility Command Airlift Rodeo. With the 440th Airlift Wing  and the 911th Airlift Wing respectively, he served as Operation Group Deputy Commander and Vice Wing Commander. In 2007 General Ployer was assigned to U.S. Southern Command, serving there as the Reserve Director for Security and Intelligence Operations and Director of Partnering. In 2009, He was assigned as the Mobilization Assistant to the Director, Operations, Strategic Deterrence, and Nuclear Integration, Headquarters U.S. Air Forces in Europe.

The general's deployment experience includes operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm where he flew more than 550 hours in theater with in excess of 100 hours of combat/combat support. In 2003 and 2006 he commanded the 447th Air Expeditionary Group, Iraq. In this position he was responsible for 1300 personnel in nine squadrons, the build up and sustainment of two camps, aerial port operations as well as aerial and radar approach control for central Iraq. He was also responsible for providing base operating support to special operation forces and coalition warfighters. In September 2004, he served as Battle Commander, 1st Air Force, Continental NORAD Region.
