Major General C. MCCAULEY VON HOFFMAN

Maj. Gen. C. McCauley von Hoffman is the Deputy to the Chief of Air Force Reserve, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. She assists the Chief of Air Force Reserve who serves as the Principal Adviser on Reserve matters to the Secretary of the Air Force and Air Force Chief of Staff. She facilitates matters pertaining to the oversight of Air Force Reserve appropriations for personnel, operations and maintenance, and construction programs for a force of more than 70,000 personnel. As Deputy, she often represents the Chief with other Air Staff agencies in the formulation and development of plans, policies and programs affecting the Air Force Reserve. Maj. Gen. von Hoffman assists the Chief in developing the organizational architecture of the Air Force Reserve in accordance with wartime requirements and budget realities. During mobilization, she advises Air Force oļ¬ƒcials on capabilities and issues related to mobilization of the Air Force Reserve to plans and policies for recall.

Maj. Gen. von Hoffman received her commission through ROTC at Vanderbilt University in 1989. She began her career as a supply and fuels officer and later cross-trained into aircraft maintenance. She has since had assignments in both fighter and airlift weapon systems, logistics command and control, studies and analysis, as well as joint operations and logistics.

Prior to assuming her current position, Maj. Gen. von Hoffman served as the Director of Logistics, Civil Engineering, Force Protection and Nuclear Integration, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. She has held numerous staff positions, including the Joint Staff, Air Combat Command, U.S. Air Forces Europe and U.S. Air Forces -Africa, and has commanded a squadron, group, and Air Logistics Complex. Maj. Gen. von Hoffman also served as Chief of a Joint Operations Center for a combatant command. She has served tours in the Pacific and Europe and deployed in support of several contingency operations including operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Provide Comfort, Northern Watch, Coronet Oak, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
