MAJOR GENERAL DONALD R. LINDBERG Maj. Gen. Donald R. Lindberg is the Mobilization Assistant to Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. In this capacity, he is responsible to the Secretary of the Air Force and the Chief of Staff for formulating policy supporting air, space, cyberspace, irregular warfare, counter-proliferation, homeland security and weather operations. General Lindberg is a 1983 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy where he received his regular commission. He attended Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, and was recognized as a Distinguished Graduate. He has served in a variety of flying and command assignments, having commanded at the flight, squadron, group and wing levels. General Lindberg led and flew combat missions over Bosnia in support of operations Deny Flight and Decisive Edge in 1996, Operation Northern Watch over Iraq in 1998, 1999 and 2000 as well as Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005. General Lindberg is a command pilot with more than 4,200 flying hours in the F-15, F-16 and F-22. In his civilian job, he is an airline pilot with a major U.S. carrier.
