MAJOR GENERAL NORMAN J. BROZENICK JR.

 

Maj. Gen. Norman J. Brozenick, Jr., is the Vice Commander, Air Force Special Operations Command, Hurlburt Field, Florida. The command is the Air Force component of U.S. Special Operations Command.  AFSOC provides Air Force special operations forces for worldwide deployment and assignment to unified combatant commanders.  The command has approximately 19,000 active-duty, Reserve, Air National Guard, and civilian professionals.  

General Brozenick entered the Air Force in 1983 as a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy.  The general is a command pilot with over 4,000 flying hours in mobility and special operations aircraft.  

General Brozenick commanded a squadron, group, and wing, a combined/joint special operations air component and joint special operations task forces, and a subunified theater special operations command.  During overseas contingency operations he commanded joint special operations forces conducting humanitarian assistance, advisory, and combat operations in Operation Unified Assistance, Operation Enduring Freedom - Afghanistan, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom - Philippines.  His staff assignments include duty at Headquarters Air Force and the Joint Staff.  The general also served at the Joint Special Operations Command as Assistant Commanding General.  

Prior to his current assignment, he was the Commander, Special Operations Command Pacific, U.S. Pacific Command, Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii.
