The 2006 edition of Tops in Blue, "What's Love," has completed one of two tours of the Southwest Asia area of responsibility. The team performed 11 shows over 19 days for approximately 7,500 deployed servicemembers.

"It's a grueling schedule," said Tom Edwards, chief of Air Force Entertainment and Tops in Blue. "The team met each challenge with unwavering dedication and performed (its) high-energy, 90-minute shows in 100-plus degree heat with enthusiastic vigor. We met our mission by uplifting spirits."

This dedication was the inspiration for the new Tops in Blue recruitment campaign for the 2007 tour, "Perform Your Duty." This campaign will recruit Tops in Blue members for the 2007 tour, which will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Air Force. Airmen assigned to an Air Force base are eligible to compete at the Air Force worldwide talent contest scheduled Nov. 5 to 13 at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.

This competition provides up to 85 contestants a chance to compete for the 2007 tour, which begins in February. Musicians, vocalists, dancers, technicians and drivers should contact Air Force Entertainment at DSN 487-6566 or visit www.topsinblue.com for an application kit. Deadline for submission is Oct. 2.
