Officers chosen for education, cross-flow duties

More than 210 officers from 18 career fields were selected to attend developmental education or for cross-flow assignments beginning in summer 2006.

The development team special program selection and Air Force Institute of Technology boards considered officers from various fields. They included mission support career fields, developmental engineering, aircraft, munitions and missile maintenance, logistics readiness, program management, scientist, space and missile and intelligence career fields for developmental assignments and Air Force-sponsored advanced academic degree programs.

"Deliberate development of these 218 officers is the focus and these programs -- advanced degrees and career broadening experience -- are the means," said Col. William Foote, chief of the Air Force Personnel Center’s mission support officer assignments division. "This investment all boils down to posturing our officers to best perform and execute the Air Force mission."

The list of selectees is posted on the center’s Web page: http://www.afpc.randolph.af.mil/acquis/

Additional advanced academic degree opportunities may become available and all alternates should monitor the Web site for updates.

Alternates must also make sure they have completed the Graduate Record Examination or Graduate Management Admission Test, as appropriate. AFIT has a copy of the test scores and all transcripts.

Assignment teams will individually notify alternates if selected for additional opportunities that become available.
