United Arab Emirates honors Moseley

The United Arab Emirates conferred the highest military order on Air Force Vice Chief of Staff Gen. T. Michael Moseley during a ceremony at the Dubai Air Show on Dec. 8.

Lt. Gen. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the deputy crown prince of Abu Dhabi and chief of staff of the United Arab Emirates armed forces presented the Emirates Military Order First Class to Moseley. The award recognizes the general’s outstanding services which contributed to the reinforcement of cooperation between the United States and UAE.

Many senior officers of the United Arab Emirates army and members of the U.S. delegation to the air show attended the ceremony, as well as U.S. ambassador to the UAE, Marcelle M. Wahba.

According to a report in Gulf News on Dec. 9, Moseley said the honor “would serve as an additional incentive to redouble efforts to enhance cooperation between the two countries.”

The general has served as the director of operations for Joint Task Force-Southwest Asia. He also commanded 9th Air Force and U.S. Central Command Air Forces while serving as combined forces air component commander for operations Southern Watch, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
