Wildfire support continues

Airmen from three wings flew missions from Channel Islands Air National Guard Station, Calif., Oct. 29 to help fight the California wildfires.

C-130 Hercules aircraft equipped with modular airborne firefighting systems have flown more than 24 sorties and dropped more than 64,000 gallons of retardant on the fires, officials said.

The airmen are from the California Air National Guard’s 146th Airlift Wing at Channel Islands ANG Station; the Air Force Reserve Command’s 302nd AW at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.; and the Wyoming ANG’s 153rd AW at Cheyenne.
