DoD CI, HUMINT awards showcase OSI excellence

The Air Force Office of Special Investigations earned eight awards out of 18 categories during the Department of Defense Counterintelligence and Human Intelligence Awards held at separate DoD and national ceremonies in the National Capital Region July 30 and 31.

“That’s an amazing testament to the caliber of effort our teammates contributed to AFOSI’s counterintelligence mission, the Air Force and the DoD at large throughout the year,” wrote Brig. Gen. Terry L. Bullard, AFOSI commander, in announcing the news to the OSI team. “Performance STILL matters! We are proud of your well-deserved recognition and thankful for your dedication.”

OSI earned awards in these DoD CI and HUMINT Enterprise categories:

CI Investigation (Team)

CI Individual Countering Technical & Cyber Threats (Individual)

CI Individual Countering Technical & Cyber Threats (Team)

CI Analysis and Production (Individual)

Training and Education (Individual)

CI Collections (Individual)

CI Supply Chain Risk Protect (Team)

CI Credibility Assessment (Individual)

Meanwhile, OSI garnered five more awards during the Intelligence Community National Counterintelligence and Security Professional Awards competition.

OSI won in these categories:

CI Collection (Individual)

CI Operations (Team)

Countering Technical and Cyber Threats (Individual)

Education and Training (Team)

The competitions were judged by selection panels consisting of senior subject matter experts from across the DoD and National CI, HUMINT and security communities respectively, representing decades of experience.
