In an effort to inform Hanscom Air Force Base-area acquisition professionals about test efforts and capabilities, the 96th Cyberspace Test Group, Detachment 1 at Hanscom AFB, is hosting a virtual test workshop March 2.

The event will be part of a quarterly series of workshops offered by the detachment, each with a different theme. This quarter’s theme is cybersecurity.

“In the modern work environment, sharing knowledge and resources helps keep our personnel and weapons systems more secure and resilient in the face of modern cyber threats,” said Capt. John Davis, 96th CTG Det. 1 test engineer. “With the growing prioritization of integrating cybersecurity early and often in the acquisitions process, this really is the perfect topic for our first workshop of 2021.”

Joseph Bradley
, director of the Cyber Resiliency Office for Weapon Systems and director of Engineering and Technical Management here, will kick off the event. Dr. Robert Tamburello, National Cyber Range Complex deputy director at Charleston, South Carolina; Lt. Col. Jeremy Higbee, director of operations for the 47th Test Squadron at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas; and Lt. Col. Darren Edmonds, Hanscom AFB Collaboration and Innovation Center director, will also provide updates on their organizations.

“This workshop will be a great educational opportunity to learn about modern test resources and initiatives,” Davis said. “Our hope is that we can connect the acquisition community with the test community, enhance our relationships and come together to share ideas.”

All attendees must
RSVP no later than Feb. 26 to participate. Slots are only available for military members and Department of Defense civilian employees and contractors.

On the day of the workshop, attendees must log into CVR Microsoft Teams and access the meeting either via their calendar or the “HAFB 1st Qtr 2021 Test Workshop” team channel.

Opening remarks will begin at 1 p.m. The event is expected to conclude by 5 p.m.
