Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark A. Welsh III and Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force James Cody visited with Israeli air force Commander Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel and other Israeli defense officials during a four-day visit to the region Aug. 5 to 7. They discussed a number of topics including mutual security challenges, and plans to further strengthen the cooperation between the U.S. and Israeli air forces.

"It was wonderful to visit this beautiful country again, it was a great privilege to visit our partners in the Israeli air force,"  said Welsh, who first visited in 2009 as commander of U.S. Air Forces in Europe. "I leave here reminded of what a strong partner we have in the Israeli air force, and what a great leader they have in my friend Amir Eshel.”
