If you have talent and want to show it off, Air Force Personnel Center Services officials have announced a new opportunity for you.

The Air Force "U Got Talent" program features base-level competitions held around the world in September and October. Competitions are open to all active-duty members, their spouses and dependent children between 3 and 18 years old.

Participants will compete for the title of "Best talent in the Air Force" and a chance to win $1000, and can enter one of 11 solo, duet or group categories. Participants can compete in more than one category.

Bases will submit videos of their first and second place winners in each category to the Services entertainment division to compete at the Air Force level, said Edward Jones, Air Force Entertainment and Tops In Blue performance director.

Air Force-level judging begins Dec. 5 and winners will be announced Dec.13. Prizes will be distributed by Jan. 15, 2014.

"This year we have great prizes for our winners, including a professional recording session of your act, electronic equipment and airline tickets," Jones said.

Check with your local base community or youth center for your base competition date, requirements and award prizes.
