Planes over water

AIR FORCE PHOTOS

Keeping it cool

Senior Airman Robert George sprays the coils of an air-conditioning unit with water outside one of the dining facilities at this deployed location in Southwest Asia Oct. 11. The water rinses off hydrochloric acid used previously to clean sand, grit and debris from the unit's coils, which are much like that of an automobile radiator. There are better than 3,000 air-conditioning units at this base, which is home to about 1,500 Airmen and the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing. Airman George is assigned to the 380th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron and deployed from Yokota Air Base, Japan. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. Jason Tudor)
