Maj. Gen. Gary M. Batinich is mobilization assistant to the Commander, U.S. Air Forces Central Command, Southwest Asia.
General Batinich is a native of Eveleth, Minn. He received his commission upon graduation from the U.S. Air Force Academy in May 1978. The general earned his aeronautical rating after completing undergraduate pilot training at Williams Air Force Base, Ariz., in July 1979. A command pilot, he has logged more than 4,400 hours in the T-38 and F-16 aircraft. He has served in operations Provide Comfort II, Southern Watch, Northern Watch and Enduring Freedom, where he has accumulated more than 120 combat flying hours. He has commanded at the squadron and wing levels. In his civilian occupation, he is a captain for a major airline.
