Brig. Gen. Stephen T. Denker is the Director of Strategic Plans, Programs and Analyses, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He is responsible for command-wide strategic planning, programming, analyses and wargaming. He governs the Program Objective Memorandum process for the AFMC Agile Combat Support (ACS) Air Force Core Function and the Weapon Systems Sustainment components worth over $40 billion. Additional responsibilities include creation and annual update of the ACS Service Core Function Master Plan, command oversight of base realignment and closure, strategic basing, lessons learned, enterprise analyses and transformational activities.

General Denker entered the Air Force in 1986 after graduating from the University of Minnesota and receiving a commission as a distinguished graduate of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program. He began his career as a spacecraft engineer at Los Angeles AFB, Calif., followed by acquisition assignments with the Strategic Defense Initiative Organization, now known as the Missile Defense Agency, and the Special Programs organization at the Pentagon. General Denker's operations experience includes developmental test and evaluation activities and specialized operations on a variety of space and ground systems. He has commanded at the Squadron, Group and Wing level and has served as executive officer and deputy division chief on the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Acquisition) staff.

Prior to his current assignment, General Denker served as the Commandant, Air Command and Staff College and Vice Commander, Spaatz Center for Officer Education, Air University, Maxwell AFB, Ala. As Commandant, he led the world's premier in-residence and distance learning professional military education college for midcareer officers and civilians focused on the development of leaders.
