Brig. Gen. J. Marcus Hicks is the Director, Command, Control, Communications and Cyber for U.S. Pacific Command, Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii.

General Hicks graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 1986 with a degree in electrical engineering, and received his commission through Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. He is a graduate of the School of Advanced Airpower Studies and was a National Defense Fellow at the Washington Institute and a Senior Executive Fellow at Harvard University.

General Hicks has commanded the 374th Airlift Wing at Yokota Air Base, Japan, the Combined Joint Special Operations Air Component at Joint Base Balad, Iraq, and the 14th Weapons Squadron at Hurlburt Field, Fla. He served in staff assignments at Headquarters, Air Force Special Operations Command and Air Combat Command. His Pentagon assignments include Operations Directorates of Headquarters Air Force and the Joint Staff. Prior to his current assignment, the general served as Director, Secretary of the Air Force and Chief of Staff Executive Action Group, the Pentagon.

A command pilot, Brig. Gen. Hicks has more than 3,000 flying hours mostly in the AC-130H/U, including combat missions in Panama, Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
