Brig. Gen. John Bansemer is the Director of Intelligence, Headquarters U.S. European Command, Stuttgart-Vaihingen, Germany.

As the Director of Intelligence, General Bansemer leads the Joint Intelligence Operations Center-Europe which directs the development and execution of all Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance capabilities supporting U.S. interests and regional alliances in the 51-nation European Command Area of Responsibility.

General Bansemer entered the Air Force in 1987 as a distinguished graduate of Officer Training School at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. His career has included a variety of operational intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance duties. He has commanded at the detachment, squadron, group and wing levels. He has served on the staff of the National Security Council, the Air Staff and the Air Intelligence Agency staff. Prior to his current assignment, he served as Assistant Vice Commander, Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Agency, Lackland AFB, Texas.
