Daniel A. Fri, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Deputy Director of Logistics, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. The Logistics Directorate provides policy and guidance to organize, train and equip aircraft maintenance, transportation, supply and logistics plans units at 14 major active air installations in the U.S. and 17 en-route locations around the world. Along with the Director, he is responsible for 860 active aircraft, 8,200 vehicles and 24,000 people. He also assists in the readiness of more than 616 aircraft and more than 80,000 people in the Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard, providing total force augmentation to support flexible, global reach for America.
Mr. Fri began his career in 1979 as a Munitions Maintenance Technician at Soesterberg Air Base, Netherlands. He served 22 years on active duty in a variety of munitions, logistics, and supply chain management positions at 10 different locations. He retired from active duty in 2001 as a Chief Master Sergeant and entered civil service at Hill AFB, Utah. He has since held positions at Headquarters U.S. Air Force, 635th Supply Chain Operations Wing, and U.S. Transportation Command. Most recently he was Associate Director of Resource Integration, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Installations, and Mission Support, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. He was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in March 2013.
