7/13/2009 6:24:33 PM ET I think you need to consider that the sun does a lot of damage and causes cataracts. Sunglasses are not always to look cool but have a function if keeping your eyes in good condition and protected. Eyesight cannot be replaced. I see not need to cause eye damage from direct sunlight to look professional. I am sure they do not wear them indoors. Wrap arounds offer more protection and also are what is sold in most stores now.

7/10/2009 10:52:54 AM ET It's nice to see the next generation of cadets that lead the Air Force in the future. The upper classmen shown on the pictures wear wrap around stylish glasses that on my opinion is stylish and looks cool but doesn't reflect a professional image in Air Force blues. I have retired a few years ago but I don't think the ideals of wearing the uniform had change since then. The image of an airman showing how professional they are is the purpose behind it and not to be cool and look good. What if the Old Guard in Arlington guarding the Tomb of the Unknown wear those kind of glasses Do you think they project a professional image. Remember that the ideals never change...
