6/15/2011 - RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFNS) -- The deadline for submitting nominations for the 2012 National Public Service Award to the Air Force Personnel Center is Aug. 1.

The National Public Service Award recognizes individuals with agency-wide responsibility who exhibit the highest standards of excellence, dedication and accomplishment over a sustained period of time, and who are creative and highly skilled career managers at all levels of public service.

This award is open to both military and federal employees who have spent a significant portion of their careers as public service practitioners at the federal, state, local or international levels of government or in nonprofit organizations that provided direct public service.

Organizations and base-level personnel must contact their major command, field operating agency or direct reporting unit for applicable suspense dates and additional information regarding nomination procedures.

Each MAJCOM, FOA or DRU may submit one nomination.
