11/14/2011 - SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFNS) -- AFCENT Airmen will lead the Department of Defense effort to showcase a variety of U.S. military aircraft at the 2011 Dubai Airshow from Nov. 13 to 17.

The event demonstrates a shared commitment both to regional security and to developing the U.S. military's key relationships throughout Southwest Asia.

This year the static displays are the C-17 Globemaster III, C-130J Super Hercules, E2-C Hawkeye, F-15C Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, F-18 Hornet, MH-60R Seahawk and V-22 Osprey.

The static models of aircraft are from bases in the Gulf region, Europe and the U.S. The Air Force, Army and Navy displays will be used to highlight the wide range of capabilities of the U.S. military's airpower.

Additionally, a number of aircrew and support personnel from bases at a variety of locations will be available to answer questions about the aircrafts' technology and capabilities.

DAS is internationally acclaimed as the third-largest air show in the world and the premiere aviation and air industry event in the Gulf region. According to officials, this event is just one way the U.S. and its allies and partners work together to promote security, stability and mutual interests in the region.
