OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM -- Senior Airman Bryce Weight, a security forces journeyman deployed from the Salt Lake City, Utah, Air National Guard to the 363rd Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron, guards an entry control point with a M-60 machine gun on April 3, 2003. The 363rd ESFS members work around the clock performing force protection measures, air base defense, and protecting personnel in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom at a forward deployed location in southwest Asia. OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM -- Staff Sgt. Andrew Poole and Senior Airman Nathan Davis, crew chiefs from Minot Air Force Base, N.D., secure a fuel hose underneath a B-52 Stratofortress enabling the fuels specialist to "top off" the tank before the jet persues its next mission April 2, 2003. The forward-deployed base where these two crew chiefs are temorarily stationed is currently home of the 457th Air Expeditionary Group which has been positioned to support Operation Iraqi Freedom. The operation is the multi-national coalition effort toliberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.

OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM –- Staff Sgt. Phyllis Jones and Airman 1st Class Hari Torres prepare turkey ala king for a Camp Chariot dinner meal. The services squadron food services flight supported a base surge of 590 percent in January. Sixty-three service members worked in food service before hostilities started and that number has risen to 83 members currently working in food services.
