SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFNEWS) --   A team of Air Force maintenance experts traveled to Kenya March 21to 28 to work with their Kenyan counterparts. Their goal was to improve F-5 fighter maintenance, operations, supply and aircraft support equipment.

The eight-main Air Force team, led by Col. Dennis Mitchell, chief of standardization and evaluation for 9th Air Force at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., included maintenance experts recruited from across the Air Force. In support of bilateral efforts, the team worked with Kenyan airmen at Moi and Laikipia Air Bases.

"We greatly appreciate the opportunity to work with the dedicated professionals in the Kenyan Air Force and hope this will lead to cooperative operations in the future," Colonel Mitchell said.

Included in this visit were discussions at Kenyan air force headquarters on mutual operational goals as well as current and future security cooperation opportunities.
