RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFPN) --   The deadline for officers to apply for retraining into the space and missile career field has been extended to Jan. 3.

The career field needs an additional 30-40 people. Interested officers must first contact their assignment team to determine if they can be released from their current career field. Applicants must also pass a Class III flying physical.

Most opportunities will be for intercontinental ballistic missile operations duty, but some positions in spacelift/range operations and satellite command and control are also open, Air Force Personnel Center officials here said.

Information on the application process and the space and missile career field can be found at http://www.afpc.randolph.af.mil/nr-ops/13S/SPAM%20Home.htm.

Completed packages must arrive at the center by Jan. 3. The package can either be faxed to (210) 565-2295 or DSN 665-2295, or mailed to HQ AFPC/DPAOO1, 550 C St. W., Suite 5, Randolph AFB TX 78150-4707.
