WASHINGTON (AFNS) --   The Air Force senior enlisted Airman released the latest installment of Roll Call, urging Airmen to follow the example of the ninth Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force James Binnicker, who passed away March 21. Binnicker will be laid to rest Aug. 14 at Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia.

Binnicker “(left) behind a legacy of leadership that always encouraged and challenged Airmen to shape the future,” Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force James A. Cody wrote in his Roll Call. “He wasn’t OK with neglect, apathy or simply passing the buck. He demanded action, ownership, innovation … and a commitment to professionalism in our chosen Profession of Arms.”

Cody encourages Airmen to take on the challenge and commit to doing their very best.

“Each and every Airman is critical to the projection of airpower and owns a stake in our future success,” Cody wrote. “It is through your leadership that we create and strengthen partnerships to leverage increased wisdom and perspective. It is you who we count on to effectively and efficiently strengthen our team and accomplish our mission.”
