Memorial Day Ceremony

Young volunteers representing the East Coast Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen Inc. participated in a Memorial Day wreath-laying ceremony held at the Air Force Memorial, May 26, 2014, in Arlington, Va. Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force James A. Cody provided the keynote speech remarking that for him, on Memorial Day, the three spires of the memorial stood for freedom, fortitude and our fallen. He went on to say that today is a day to remember the freedom that we all share because of the fortitude shown by of our fallen comrades in fighting and standing their ground. Cody then told the crowd that today, and everyday, our fallen are with us in our stories and our memories, and they give us cause to wave our flags. (U.S. Air Force photo/Jim Varhegyi)
