Master Sgt. Paul McIndoe (left) and 1st Lt. PRT Qalat is a joint U.S. Air Force and Army team assigned to the country's southeast province of Zabul. As part of NATO's International Security Assistance Force, PRT Qalat conducts civil-military operations designed to extend the reach and legitimacy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan by promoting good governance and justice; enabling an active and effective Afghan security force; and facilitating reconstruction, development and economic growth. Sergeant McIndoe is deployed from the 690th Alterations and Installation Squadron at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, and Lieutenant Vazansky is assigned to the 341st Civil Engineer Squadron at Malmstrom AFB, Mont.
