If you file a restricted report, no law enforcement or investigative agency will be notified, nor will your command. A SARC or SAPR victim advocate will help you obtain support services such as medical and mental health, special victims’ counsel or spiritual. Any medical evidence gathered will be saved for five years in case you decide to unrestrict your report later.

Your report will only be released if it is necessary to prevent a serious or imminent threat to your health or safety or the health and safety of someone else; is ordered by a military, federal or state judge; or is authorized in writing by you. In any instance other than your authorization, the SARC will work with the servicing staff judge advocate to determine whether exceptions to release apply.
