    Since its establishment Aug. 14th, 1954, the Academy has been developing many of these Airmen by remaining on the forefront of both innovation in higher education and development of the Airman's ethos and Air Force culture. It has continued to adapt as the problems faced by our nation have evolved.

    As we celebrate the Air Force Academy's 60th anniversary, I salute all of the proud servicemen and women who have devoted themselves to producing leaders of character for our Air Force and our nation. As the United States' youngest service academy, our Air Force's Academy continues a proud heritage built on the foundations of integrity, service and excellence.
