  • A-10C Thunderbolt II

    The A-10C Thunderbolt II is the first Air Force aircraft specially designed for close air support of ground forces. They are simple, effective and survivable twin-engine jet aircraft that can be used against light maritime attack aircraft and all ground targets, including tanks and other armored vehicles.
  • AC-130J Ghostrider

    The AC-130J is a highly modified C-130J aircraft that contains many advanced features. It contains an advanced two-pilot flight station with fully integrated digital avionics.
  • AC-130U

    The AC-130U “Spooky” gunships’ primary missions are close air support, air interdiction and armed reconnaissance. Close air support missions include troops in contact, convoy escort and point air defense. Air interdiction missions are conducted against preplanned targets or targets of opportunity and include strike coordination, reconnaissance and armed overwatch mission sets.
  • AC-130W Stinger II

    The AC-130W Stinger II primary missions are close air support and air interdiction. Air interdiction missions are conducted against preplanned targets or targets of opportunity and include strike coordination and reconnaissance.
  • AGM-129A Advanced Cruise Missile

    The AGM-129A advanced cruise missile is a stealth, nuclear-capable cruise missile used exclusively by B-52H bombers.
  • AGM-130 Missile

    The AGM-130 is a powered air-to-surface missile designed for high- and low-altitude strikes at standoff ranges against a variety of targets.
  • AGM-65 Maverick

    The AGM-65 Maverick is a tactical, air-to-surface guided missile designed for close air support, interdiction and defense suppression mission.
  • AGM-86B/C/D Missiles

    The AGM-86B air-launched cruise missiles and AGM-86C/D conventional air-launched cruise missiles were developed to increase the effectiveness of B-52H bombers. In combination, they dilute an enemy's forces and complicate defense of its territory.
  • AGM-88 HARM

    The AGM-88 HARM or high-speed anti-radiation missile, is an air-to-surface tactical missile designed to seek and destroy enemy radar-equipped air defense systems.
  • AIM-120 AMRAAM

    The AIM-120 advanced medium-range air-to-air missile (AMRAAM) is a new generation air-to-air missile. It has an all-weather, beyond-visual-range capability and is scheduled to be operational beyond 2000.
  • AIM-7 Sparrow

    The AIM-7 Sparrow is a radar-guided, air-to-air missile with a high-explosive warhead. The versatile Sparrow has all-weather, all-altitude operational capability and can attack high-performance aircraft and missiles from any direction. It is a widely deployed missile used by U.S. and North Atlantic Treaty Organization forces.
  • AIM-9 Sidewinder

    MissionThe AIM-9 Sidewinder is a supersonic, heat-seeking, air-to-air missile carried by fighter aircraft. It has a high-explosive warhead and an infrared heat-seeking guidance system. The Sidewinder was developed by the U.S. Navy for fleet air defense and was adapted by the U.S. Air Force for fighter aircraft use. Early versions of the missile

    Air Combat Command, headquartered at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, is one of ten major commands in the United States Air Force. ACC is the primary provider of air combat forces to America's warfighting commanders and is the direct successor to Tactical Air Command.

    Air Education and Training Command recruits, trains and educates Airmen to deliver airpower for America.
  • Air Force Bands

    Air Force bands support the global Air Force mission by organizing, training and deploying professional musicians. The bands provide the power of music to inspire immediate, positive and long-lasting impressions of the U.S. Air Force and the United States in the hearts and minds of audiences worldwide.
