    Gen. Timothy Ray took command of Air Force Global Strike Command from Gen. Robin Rand, outgoing AFGSC commander, during a ceremony, Aug. 21. He is the newest leader of the Air Force’s portion of the nuclear enterprise, which maintains the nation's only force of Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles and strategic bombers.

    In February 2018, Chief of Staff of the Air Force Gen. David L. Goldfein announced that Air Force squadrons would receive funding to be used for Airmen-led innovations that increase readiness, reduce cost, return time back to Airmen or enhance lethality of the force. The Squadron Innovation Fund was designed to reduce resource barriers preventing ingenuity, according to Goldfein, and serve as seed money for squadron-level innovation initiatives.

    Malmstrom AFB unit earns top DoD maintenance award

    The 341st Maintenance Group, at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana is the recipient of the 2017 Defense Department’s Phoenix Award for Maintenance Excellence, according to DoD officials.
