The T-38 Talon is a twin-engine, high-altitude, supersonic jet trainer used in a variety of roles because of its design, economy of operations, ease of maintenance, high performance and exceptional safety record. It is used primarily by Air Education and Training Command for undergraduate pilot and pilot instructor training. 4/23/2008 - COLUMBUS AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- Two pilots died April 23 when an Air Force T-38C Talon trainer crashed at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Columbus Air Force Base, Miss.
Names of the deceased have not been released, pending the notification of next of kin. A board of officers will investigate the accident.
