Academy provides update on cheating investigation

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AFNEWS) --   Academy officials provided the latest numbers of cadets interviewed and the number of cases being forwarded for further action in the cheating incident involving some members of the Class of 2010 Feb. 15 here.

Since the interviews began Feb. 2, a total of 39 cases have been investigated as of Feb. 14. 

Thirty-six cases, 24 of them involving athletes, have been forwarded for further investigation following normal procedures in the cadet honor system.

Of the 36, 24 cadets have admitted to cheating, and 12 have denied it. All cases involve only fourth class (freshmen) cadets.

Further updates will be provided when additional information is available.
