Investigation continues in academy cheating incident

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AFNEWS) -- The number of cases under investigation in a recent cheating incident at the U.S. Air Force Academy has increased from 37 to 39 since last week.

The incident, which came to light in early February, involves cheating on a Fourth Class Knowledge Test. Of the 39 cases, 27 cadets have admitted to cheating, 25 of them athletes.

One cadet has resigned. Seventeen have been found in violation by panels of their peers. Their cases are under review to determine whether they will be placed on probation or disenrolled.

All cases involve only fourth class (freshmen) cadets, members of the Class of 2010.

Further updates will be provided when additional information is available.
