Lieutenant General CHARLES L. PLUMMER

Lt. Gen. Charles L. (Chuck) Plummer is The Judge Advocate General of the Air Force (19th) and Space Force (2nd), Headquarters U.S. Air Force, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. In these capacities, Lt. Gen. Plummer serves as the Legal Adviser to the Secretary of the Air Force, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, the Chief of Space Operations, and all officers and agencies of the Department of the Air Force. He directs all judge advocates in the performance of their duties and is responsible for the professional oversight of more than 2,200 judge advocates, 350 civilian attorneys, 1,400 enlisted paralegals and 500 civilian employees in the Total Force Judge Advocate General's Corps worldwide, overseeing military justice, operations and international law, and civil law and litigation functions at all levels of Air Force and Space Force commands.

Lt. Gen. Plummer was born and raised in Syracuse, New York. He was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 1994. From August 1994 to September 1995, he practiced as a civilian attorney with firms in Buffalo and Syracuse, New York. He entered the Air Force by direct appointment in September 1995.

Lt. Gen. Plummer has served in a variety of legal positions at the base, the field operating agency, the air staff and the joint staff levels, including twice serving in command positions as a brigadier general and major general (general court-martial convening authority). In addition to his traditional assignments, he served as the Staff Judge Advocate to the 3rd Air Expeditionary Group, Kwang Ju Air Base, South Korea, and as the Staff Judge Advocate to a Joint Special Operations Task Force, Jordan.
