Photo essay: Airmen drop donated goods to islanders

OVER THE PACIFIC OCEAN (AFNS) --  Airman from Yokota Air Base, Japan, participated in the Operation Christmas Drop on its 57th anniversary to airdrop donated goods over remote islands in the Pacific Ocean Dec. 16 through 17.   Operation Christmas Drop is a non-profit organization sponsored by volunteers from Andersen Air Force Base and the local Guam community. Each year, the two join forces to aid more than 30,000 islanders in the archipelago of islands such as Chuuk, Palau, Yap, the Marshall Islands and the Northern Mariana Islands where there are few inhabitants.
