Coalition live-fire exercise enhances Iraqi combat capabilities
Australian Army Maj. Chris Lingard, Task Group Taji Victor 4 training squadron commander, and U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Wayne Collier (right), 370th Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron joint terminal attack controller, monitor an approaching vehicle during an Iraqi-Air Force joint terminal attack controller qualification course at Besmayah Range, Iraq, March 4, 2018. The five-day event marked the first time IFACs exercised calling in airstrikes on the range, and their first time calling in live-fire from coalition aircraft. The Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve, in conjunction with the Coalition Aviation Advisory and Training Team, coordinated the exercise, March 4-8, to certify newly trained IFACs and demonstrate progress made since their training started in December 2017.
