JOHN H. BLAIR

John H. Blair, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is Director, 542nd Combat Sustainment Wing, Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Robins Air Force Base, Ga. As Director, Mr. Blair is the principal logistics adviser to the center commander and manages a workforce of more than 3,000 personnel. His responsibilities include sustainment support for electronic warfare, avionics and ground communication, navigation, precision attack systems, airborne weapons and missiles, support equipment, automatic test systems, expeditionary airfield resources and life support systems. He ensures that the Air Force metrology program sustains precision measurement capabilities. He is responsible for financial oversight for the requirements and acquisition budgets of more than $9.3 billion, and providing policy, guidance and support for logistics management systems, management of worldwide inventory levels, technical order management and foreign military sales support.

A native of Atlanta, Ga., Mr. Blair holds bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration. He entered federal service in 1973 as a contract specialist at Warner Robins ALC and is a graduate of contracting's Copper Cap Development Program. From 1994 to 2003, Mr. Blair was assigned to Tinker AFB, Okla., where he led the transition of workload from the San Antonio and Sacramento air logistics centers to the Oklahoma City Airborne Accessories Directorate as a result of base realignment and closure. He then returned to the Warner Robins ALC where he served as Director, Logistics Management Directorate, prior to his current position.
