Major General ROY W. COLLINS

Maj. Gen. Roy W. Collins is the Deputy Director for Force Protection, Joint Staff, J8, where he leads three Force Protection Divisions including the Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense Organization responsible for the advocacy and integration of Joint IAMD capabilities; the Force Protection Division which identifies and develops joint requirements for asset and personnel protection; and he serves as Director, Joint Requirements Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense, a Chairman’s Controlled Activity. Maj. Gen. Collins also serves as the Chairman of the Protection Functional Capabilities Board.

Maj. Gen. Collins joined the Air Force in May 1995 as a graduate from the United States Air Force Academy. He served on the Air Mobility Command staff as Chief, Antiterrorism and Force Protection Branch, and as the Air Combat Command’s Director, Commander’s Action Group. He has commanded the 95th Security Forces Squadron at Edwards Air Force Base, California, and the 341st Missile Security Forces Squadron, Malmstrom AFB, Montana. Additionally, he served as Deputy Commander for the 341st Security Forces Group, Malmstrom AFB, Montana. Maj. Gen. Collins also commanded the 5th Mission Support Group, Minot AFB, North Dakota, and the 37th Training Wing, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Additionally, he was the Deputy Director, United States Air Forces Central Command, Air Force Forces Force Protection, Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar and the Director of Security Forces, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Arlington, Virginia. Prior to his current assignment, Maj. Gen. Collins was the Chief of Staff, Security Assistance Group- Ukraine, Wiesbaden, Germany.
