Ms. Jacqueline R. Benningfield is the Auditor General of the Air Force, headquartered at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. As the Air Force Auditor, she is the principal adviser to the Secretary of the Air Force, the Air Force Chief of Staff and the Chief of Space Operations on all audit matters. She leads the Air Force Audit Agency, which conducts internal audits across the Department of the Air Force and supports Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation efforts to achieve and sustain an unmodified audit opinion. She oversees a global workforce of more than 450 professional auditors operating in over 50 locations.
Ms. Benningfield began her federal career with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service in 2000. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of accounting, auditing and Inspector General positions, including Assistant Auditor General of the Department of the Air Force. In 2019, she was appointed to the Senior Executive Service Corps.
Prior to her current position, Ms. Benningfield served as the Director of Program Analysis and Financial Management at United States Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. In that role, she was responsible for programming, developing, managing and integrating the command’s budget to fund the global Defense Transportation System. She developed policy and executed the Air Force’s $12 billion Transportation Working Capital Fund. She also oversaw Joint Component Command financing in support of Combatant Command mobility requirements, ensuring readiness and alignment with national security objectives.
