Major General PAUL D. MOGA

Maj. Gen. Paul D. Moga is Commander, Third Air Force, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Third Air Force issues directives to subordinate commands and acts on behalf of the U.S. Air Forces in Europe - Air Forces Africa Commander as directed. Third Air Force exercises delegated authorities over assigned forces that include personnel management, General Courts Martial Convening Authority, and advising subordinate commands on requirements, programs and the budget. Third Air Force also works with its subordinate commands to ensure implementation and compliance with relevant policies and directives of the Department of Defense, Headquarters Air Force, and USAFE-AFAFRICA. Additionally, Third Air Force facilitates coordination between its subordinate commands and USAFE-AFAFRICA, U.S. European Command, U.S. Africa Command, Defense Department agencies and other field activities.

Maj. Gen. Moga is a 1995 graduate of the US Air Force Academy. He earned his pilot wings at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, and went on to fly the F-15C Eagle as an operational and Formal Training Unit Instructor Pilot. His assignments include roles as F-22 Raptor FTU Initial Instructor Pilot Cadre, as the first F-22 Demonstration Team Commander, as Deputy Division Chief at USEUCOM, as Deputy Director for Operations at USNORTHCOM, and as Commandant of Cadets at the U.S. Air Force Academy. He commanded at the Squadron, Deputy Wing and Wing levels. Prior to his current position, Maj. Gen. Moga was the Chief of Staff at Headquarters United States Air Forces in Europe - Air Forces Africa, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. While there, he developed and implemented policies, plans and programs on behalf of the Commander for the strategic planning and operational execution of forces in support of U.S. European Command and U.S. Africa Command.
