Brigadier General KEVIN J. ROETHE

Brig. Gen. Kevin J. Roethe is the Mobilization Assistant to the Commander, Alaskan North American Aerospace Defense Command Region; Commander, Alaskan Command; and Commander, Eleventh Air Force, Pacific Air Forces, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska.

Brig. Gen. Roethe serves as the MA to Alaskan Command, a Sub-Unified Combatant Command under USNORTHCOM, responsible for the integration of all military activities in the Alaskan joint operations area, synchronizing the activities of more than 21,000 active duty and reserve forces from all services. As Commander, when designated, he is responsible for the planning and execution of all Homeland Defense operations within the theater, including security and civil support actions. He also serves as Combined/Joint Force Air Component Commander ALCOM-C/JFACC when designated. As MA to the Commander, Eleventh Air Force, Brig. Gen. Roethe assists in the oversight of the training and readiness of five wings and Air Force installations located in Alaska, Hawaii and Guam. As MA to the Commander of the Alaskan Region of the North American Aerospace Defense Command, when tasked, Brig. Gen. Roethe directs operations to ensure effective surveillance, monitoring and defense of the region’s airspace.

Brig. Gen. Roethe was commissioned in 1993 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Portland. He has served in a number of flying, staff and joint assignments as an active duty and reserve officer. Brig. Gen. Roethe is a U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School graduate, combat mission commander and command pilot with more than 6,000 flying hours in over 80 aircraft types. He has flown combat missions in support of Operation Northern Watch.

In his civilian profession, he is the Director of Operations for a worldwide executive jet charter company. Prior to his current assignment, he served as the Mobilization Assistant to the Commander, Air Force Test Center.
