SAMUEL D. GRABLE

Samuel D. Grable, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Director, Installation Support Directorate, Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. The Installation Support Directorate is responsible for enterprise-wide installation and mission support capabilities for 77 installations, ensuring transparent and standardized intermediate-level oversight, policy, and guidance for installation engineering, protection services, and operations support.

Mr. Grable graduated from Pepperdine University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1990. In 2016, he retired as a colonel in the U.S. Air Force after a 25-year career, including staff tours on the Air Staff and Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, squadron command, and command of an Expeditionary Mission Support Group during combat operations in Afghanistan. In his final active-duty assignment, he served as the Air Force's principal liaison to the House and Senate Appropriations Committees. He joined U.S. Customs and Border Protection in 2018 as the Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Commissioner of the Office of Finance. Most recently, Mr. Grable served as the Deputy Executive Assistant Commissioner, Enterprise Services, at U.S. Customs and Border Protection where he led more than 5,000 federal and contract personnel providing mission support for the nation’s largest law enforcement agency.
