Brigadier General GEOFFREY F. WEISS

Brig. Gen. Geoffrey F. Weiss is the Director of Regional Affairs for the Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force, International Affairs, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. In this role, he manages relationships and provides oversight and guidance for international programs supporting national security objectives through politico-military affairs, security assistance, education, training and cooperative research and development. Brig. Gen. Weiss supervises over 3,400 foreign military sales cases valued at more than $266 billion.

Brig. Gen. Weiss earned his commission as the top graduate from Officer Training School in March 1994. He has commanded at the wing, group and squadron levels and commanded an expeditionary flying squadron during combat operations over Afghanistan. Prior to assuming his present duties, Brig. Gen. Weiss served as the Deputy Director for Operations and Assistant Deputy Director for Current Operations, Operations Directorate, the Joint Staff and has additional experience as Deputy Director of the Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense Organization and as an Executive Assistant in the Office of the Assistant Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force.

Brig. Gen. Weiss is a Master Air Battle Manager with more than 2,500 hours in the E-3 Sentry including 335 hours of combat and combat support. Brig. Gen. Weiss is also an award-winning author with articles appearing in the Joint Force Quarterly and Air and Space Power Journal; and his best-selling book, “The New Art of War: The Origins, Theory, and Future of Conflict,” was published by Cambridge University Press in 2021.
