Brigadier General TERENCE G. TAYLOR

Brig. Gen. Terence G. Taylor is Deputy Commanding General, Joint Special Operations Command, Fort Liberty North Carolina. In this role, he oversees the study of special operations requirements to solve time-sensitive and complex problems for the nation.

Gen. Taylor earned his commission through the Air Force ROTC program at the University of Virginia in 1997. He is an experienced combat pilot who has accumulated more than 1,803 combat flight hours and 4,800 total flight hours in nine different aircraft. He has completed 13 deployments in support of overseas contingency operations.

Gen. Taylor has commanded at the group and wing levels. He commanded a selectively manned flying squadron within the Air Force Special Operations Command. Notable staff assignments include an Air Force Fellowship with the Project on National Security Reform, a tour in the Department of State’s Bureau of Counterterrorism, an assignment as a United States Special Operations Command liaison officer at the Federal Bureau of Investigations, and a tour as the Sensitive Activities Division Chief for the Deputy Director for Special Operations and Counter-terrorism, J-37, Joint Staff, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. Prior to his current position, the general was the Commander, 380th Air Expeditionary Wing, Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates, Air Forces Central.
