183d Wing Redesignation and Homcoming Ceremony
183rd Wing

The 183d Wing located in Springfield, Illinois held a Redesignation and Homecoming ceremony March 4, 2017. The 183d was redesignated as the 183d Wing from the 183d Fighter Wing. In addition, over 80 members who have deployed during the last two AEF cycles were welcomed home. Those returning were from the 183d Air Operations Group, as well as from other squadrons. In attendance were United States Senator Dick Durbin, Illinois, United States Representative Rodney Davis, Illinois, 13th Congressional District, Major General Richard Hayes, Adjutant General, Illinois, Major General Ronald Paul, Assistant Adjutant General-Air, Illinois, Colonel John Patterson, Commander 183d Wing, Colonel Jeffry Rice, Vice Commander 183d Wing, and Command Chief Master Sergeant Wayne Vorreyer, Command Chief 183d Wing.
