Accelerate Change: Empowered Airmen

We live in a world that is driven by rapidly changing technology and an environment that includes aggressive and capable global competitors. Airmen are key to cutting unnecessary bureaucracy, recognizing and understanding our competition, and thinking of creative ways we can reshape the design of our Air Force. The Air Force must accelerate, must change, and must prepare for the future!

This page is dedicated towards highlighting the accomplishments of our talented Airmen at all levels and to show the impact they can make when they are informed and empowered to problem solve and make smart recommendations and decisions.

364th Expeditionary Sustainment Command
March 22, 2012 | 2:25
Sgt. Joe Villines (Vil-lines) takes us out with the 788th Ordnance Co. (EOD) where they are preparing code “H” ammunition and other ordnance for a controlled detonation outside Camp Buehring in Kuwait. Disposal of small lots of unusable ammunition saves the government the cost of refurbishing and tracking these munitions back through the supply system. Destroying these munitions and unexploded ordnance also denies enemies the potential to turn them into weapons. 1st Lt. Jacob Walsh, from Bethlehem, Penn., officer-in-charge of the 788th OD. Co. (EOD), at Camp Buehring, Kuwait. 00;01;05;20 Cost-efficient to “blow up” vs. repack Staff Sgt. James Van Elsacker from Waubay, SD, an EOD technician with the 788th OD. Co. (EOD), at Camp Buehring, Kuwait. 00;00;30;20 Cheaper to destroy ornance than to inspect and re-issue 00;01;37;21 $100K savings for every ton of ammunition destroyed. Available in High Definition.
