Decorated Airman laid to rest

One aircraft has departed the four-ship formation as F-15E Strike Eagles from the 391st Fighter Squadron at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, perform a missing man flyby Aug. 12, 2011, during the funeral service for retired Col. John Carey at Arlington National Cemetery. The tradition of the missing man flyby, adopted by the U.S. military in 1938, is considered one of the highest forms of respect for a fallen aviator.
