Aircraft Restoration

Tech. Sgt. Justin Fletcher (top left) and Senior Master Sgt. Christopher Hofrichter observe as Tech. Sgts. Jarod Jones and Joseph Martinek remove a landing gear mount March 4, 2011, from a C-118 Liftmaster that is being restored by active-duty and Reserve Airmen and civilians at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. Sergeants Fletcher and Hofrichter are with the 514th Maintenance Group and Sergeants Martinek and Jones are with the 305th Maintenance Squadron. Liftmasters were the first cargo airplanes stationed at JB McGuire and helped the base to define its role as an air mobility gateway. When the restoration is finished, the aircraft will be displayed near the base’s passenger terminal. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Shawn J. Jones)
